"For Where two or Three are gathered

in my name, There Am I with THem":

The Mass in Action

We are very blessed at Saint Anne parish to have so many individuals who come together to be a part of the following groups that make the Mass run so beautifully each and every week:

Welcoming Ministry

Our Ushers extend a warm "All Are Welcome" greeting to those who join us each Sunday. These ministers assist their fellow parishioners, gather the collection, distribute bulletins, and help keep our church safe and tidy.

Lectors

Our lectors strive read the appointed Scripture passages with reverence and care. After completing liturgical training, lectors carefully prepare each liturgy's readings and seek to become true ministers of the Word in all they do and say.

Eucharistic Ministers

Assist the priest in the distribution of Communion at Mass and cleanse the vessels afterwards. A real labor of love, this ministry requires a period of formation, to prepare us to share our Lord with our sisters and brothers.

Baptism/ Funeral Servers

Baptism ministers help the priest or deacon at Sunday afternoon baptisms. By their kindness and care, they extend to our young families a warm and joyful Saint Anne's welcome! Funeral servers assist the priest at funeral Masses. Their kindness and care contribute to the reverence and the hopefulness of the funeral liturgy, as we welcome our grieving brothers and sisters home to Saint Anne's. You serve when you can on weekdays.

We invite you to participate! If you would like to serve in one of the above ministries, please contact the rectory at 201-791-1616. All are very welcome and much appreciated!

"MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD":

Music Ministry

"Those who sing, pray twice."

Saint Augustine

Saint Anne parish is proud to have three choirs, each with a unique style in which they lead the community in song:

  • Family Choir: Directed by Christine Knitel and formerly the Children's Choir, the Family choir is open to all children in the parish from grades 2-8, along with members of their families! We sing at the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass on Sunday and rehearsals are on Thursday afternoons at 4:15 p.m. in the Church.
  • Adult Choir: Directed by Alan Quinn, the Adult choir sings every Sunday at the 11:30 a.m. Mass and rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Church.
  • Contemporary Choir: Directed by Meghan LoBue, the Contemporary Choir is open to all parishioners from High School age and up. They sing at the 5:15 p.m. Mass on Saturday evenings and rehearsals are Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Church.

At Christmas time, all three choirs join together for a seasonal concert.

Your voice could contribute greatly to the music which makes our worship so beautifully reverent and joyful. You are so very welcome to join us! For more information, please contact the Director of Music Ministry, Alan Quinn, at

"Commit your work to the lord":

Behind the scenes

We have a number of groups who work behind the scenes to ensure that the Church is ready for its liturgical celebrations, that all necessary materials have been prepared, and that the structure and content of the Mass are well planned. If you wish to be involved without being "seen," but always being so appreciated, consider joining one of the following groups:

Liturgy Committee

The members of this group are deeply committed to helping arrange for parish worship and prayer that is at once reverent and joyful. At more or less monthly meetings, the committee helps plan for and review all our liturgical celebrations, with special attention to music and to art and environment. You are very welcome to share your gifts and your passion with us.

Art and Environment Committee

Many hands make light work! These volunteers step forward as needed to tend to plants and flowers in the church, to clean and repair church furnishings, and to help decorate our church for the key liturgical seasons. These ministers enhance the beauty of our sacred space, helping create a spirit of welcome and joy. Additionally, we also have our Garden Angels. With green-ish thumbs and loving hearts, these parishioners look after the grounds of our parish, helping us maintain a welcoming and beautiful environment for our life together.

Altar Linen Committee

These ministers launder and iron the linens we use at each liturgy. Their work reminds us of the reverence which our worship demands.

Baptismal Garment Committee

Each child baptized at Saint Anne's is clothed in a white garment, prayerfully and lovingly crafted by the volunteers of this ministry.

Collection Counters

Each Monday morning, our Sunday collection is counted and prepared for deposit by these dedicated parishioners. It's about dollars and cents--and heads and hearts.

Mail Team

The generous volunteers of this ministry come together on an as-needed basis to prepare bulk mailings and to assemble other parish materials, including liturgical worship aides. Their careful work saves our parish thousands of dollars every year.

We are always in need of an extra set of hands! If you would like to participate in any of the above ministries, please call Lynn Alfieri, parish secretary, at the rectory at 201-791-1616.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go": Catechesis

Baptismal Catechesis

The ministers of the Baptism Team seek to prepare and educate families to welcome their children into the Catholic faith community through the sacrament of Baptism. We assist people in understanding the depth of their faith and how they practice those beliefs by choosing to follow Jesus in a lifelong faith journey.

RCIA

Through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, men and women are brought to the faith and to the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. With a faith-filled focus on the Gospel, prayer, and liturgy, candidates experience the blessing of belonging to a welcoming and forgiving community. The volunteers in this ministry are themselves richly blessed as they help guide their brothers and sisters to a fuller union with Christ and His Church. You are very welcome to help!

 "Pray without ceasing":

Eucharistic Adoration &

THe Rosary

Eucharistic Adoration

Once a month (typically on the first Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), we volunteer to spend one hour in the presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament, serving the Church and the world by our prayer. Come and watch with us!

The Rosary

At Saint Anne, we pray the rosary together as a community after the 7:30 a.m. morning Mass, on Tuesday evenings, and before the 8:45 a.m. Mass on the first Saturday of the month. All are welcome!
